Personalise your pre-paid funeral plan to reflect your beliefs, preferences, and the type of service you’d like, including hymns, music choices, and other special touches.
What is a Pre-Paid Funeral Plan?
A pre-paid funeral plan is a way to take care of funeral arrangements and make financial provision for your funeral in advance.
It also ensures that your family will receive all the support and guidance they will need when the time comes, from our team at Gillotts Funeral Directors.
The money you pay for your plan is held until it’s needed to pay for the funeral in an individual whole of life assurance policy for your peace of mind.
Then when the time comes, the funeral you chose will be arranged by Gillotts Funeral Directors, and your family will get all the help and support they will need to guide them through what will be a difficult time.
Terms and Conditions apply to funeral plans – please ask us if you have any questions.
A Thoughtful Gift for Your Loved Ones
Planning ahead for your funeral is one of the most thoughtful and caring things you can do to help your loved ones for the time when you’re no longer around.
Taking out a pre-paid funeral plan can reduce the stress and worry of arranging and paying for your funeral, at what will be difficult and emotional time.
The Benefits of a Pre-Paid Funeral Plan
There are many financial and emotional benefits to a Pre-Paid Funeral Plan. We list these below, but if you would like any more information, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
By making provision for funeral costs in advance with a pre-paid funeral plan, loved ones won’t have to worry about finding the money to pay for the funeral directors services, as long as your requirements don’t change and Gillotts carry out the funeral.
You can also include a contribution towards third party costs such as cremation or burial fees as well as fees for an officiant, but as these costs are outside of our control, there may be more to pay if these costs are higher than the plan value at the time, (please refer to the Terms & Conditions for more information).
Spare your loved ones from making difficult decisions during a time of grief.
Our plans secure the services of Gilllotts Funeral Directors. So when the time comes, you know your family will receive all the help and support from Gilotts and our local team of funeral professionals.
Our plans are provided by Ecclesiastical Planning Services, a trusted national provider with decades of experience. A name you can rely on for professionalism, and ethical practices.
Choose to pay in full or spread the cost with monthly instalments. There is an additional cost for paying over two or more years and eligibility criteria apply – please refer to the Instalment Q&A and Terms & Conditions for more information).

Backed by a Trusted, National Provider
Our funeral plan provider is Ecclesiastical Planning Services Limited, which is part of a specialist, UK based financial services group.

When you purchase one of our funeral plans, you can relax, knowing that your money is ring-fenced for your funeral.
Ecclesiastical Planning Services manage your money as follows:
The value of your funeral plan (excluding the initial administration fee and any payments to insure the plan if paying by instalments of two or more years) is held in a whole of life assurance policy and used for your funeral when the time comes.
The money is made immediately available when your family needs to arrange the funeral and the funds cannot be used for anything other than your funeral for total peace of mind.
The arrangement for holding funeral plan funds ensures that if, in the unlikely event, your funeral director ceased to trade, your funeral plan pre-payment would continue to be held by Ecclesiastical.
If Ecclesiastical are unable to meet its liabilities, you or the covered individual (or their estate, if the covered individual has died) may be entitled to compensation from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).
The FSCS is an independent body which provides protection if Ecclesiastical were to go out of business. You can find further information at www.fscs.org.uk or read more here.
Whatever sort of funeral you have in mind, we will discuss everything that you are able to include in your plan. There are a range of set plans with commonly chosen options but all plans are flexible and can be amended or added to once fully paid.
No detail is too small, and we encourage personalised options to ensure your wishes are fulfilled. This could include deciding on the type of coffin, pallbearers, charity collection, the types of floral tributes and bespoke vehicles.
You can choose to pay for your funeral plan by lump sum or in instalments. There is an additional cost for paying over two or more years and eligibility criteria applies.
Please refer to the Instalment Q&A and the Terms and Conditions for more information.
At Gillotts, we will be able to provide you with a personalised quote.
Once your funeral plan is in place, you’ll receive a welcome booklet containing the details of your plan and your funeral plan certificate. Your nominated representative will also receive a copy if you request this.
